I have used Versions and restored earlier versions but I believe that the Version that you can edit is the Version that is currently published - you can't edit a 'future' Version, can you? Workflows are useful for new Articles but don't seem to help with updates to an Article that has already been published. The user wants to update an existing complex article that is already published and leave it published as is until the changes are released -
- Leave the article as published whist he works on the changes, maybe over several sessions - so he needs to save the changes that are work in progress
- Release the updated article
